Via Mobility Services

Via is a free transportation service for Frederick seniors (age 60 or better) and people with special abilities. Vía provides services in the community for individuals who are unable to drive due to age, health, disability, or income. Via’s mission is to promote independence and self-sufficiency for people with limited mobility by providing caring, customer-focused transportation options.

Who can use this service?

  • Frederick residents ages 60 and older and people with special abilities.
  • People with a permanent or temporary disability may also use Via.
  • People who are 17 years or younger (under 14 years old must be accompanied by a qualified adult rider, 14-17 years old must be placed on a van by an adult or an employer).
  • People who reside within a household that has an income below 80% of the Area Median Income for Weld County, based on the number of members in the household. 

When can you use this service?

  • Via can take you almost anywhere, including to medical appointments, therapy, grocery stores, social events, senior centers, adult day programs, employment, and more.
  • Via can also pick up and deliver pre-paid grocery orders within the Carbon Valley.
  • Service is available within the Town of Frederick, Firestone, Dacono, Boulder, Longmont, Louisville, or Lafayette. Service between communities may be limited to certain days.

Where can I go?

  • Via operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3 pm.

Carbon Valley Senior Center provides free and low-cost educational and enrichment activities, services, and special events for people aged 55 and better. Look for a wide variety of fun and engaging programs that foster social engagement, lifelong learning, and support to help you age well and enjoy life.

Friendly Fork Senior Lunch Program

The Friendly Fork Senior Lunch program provides nutritious and delicious lunches for seniors in the Carbon Valley at 151 Grant Ave. in Firestone.  Lunches are served at noon every Tuesday and Thursday or seniors can reserve a to-go meal to take home. 

Reservations are required and must be made by 11 am the prior business day by calling the Carbon Valley Senior Center at 303.833.3660 or Weld County Friendly Fork at 970.346.6955. Please leave your name,  the number of meals requested, and your phone number. You may also email that information to the Carbon Valley Rec Center or the Friendly Fork. Meals may be picked up on Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon.
