Looking to update your landscaping? We've got you! There are a lot of great resources for you to reference to make sure your landscaping transformation is successful.

An update to Town of Frederick Land Use Code Section 2.14 became effective on November 16, 2024. Here are a few key takeaways:

• Existing Frederick property owners will not be required to change their landscaping to comply with the new code.
• Previously, Land Use Code Section 2.14 required 50% of front yards be covered in turfgrass. The updated version of this section allows property owners to remove all of the turfgrass from their yard and replace it with low water plants, if they want to!
• The update to Land Use Code Section 2.14 requires landscaped areas in front yards to be covered with 50% living plant material. This means that you cannot remove all of the plants in your front yard and replace them with rock.
