2026 Grant Administrator Report: Investing in Frederick
Welcome to your community update on the Town of Frederick’s grant activity. Our goal is to maintain fiscally responsible governance by identifying and leveraging external resources to support the people who live here today and those who will call Frederick home in the future.
2025 Performance Highlights
Our team successfully managed a diverse portfolio of projects over the past year:
- Active Grants: Administered 15 grants totaling $6,896,000.
- New Efforts: Submitted 11 new grant applications totaling $7,000,000.
- Results: Received 4 new awards, with 2 additional applications currently pending.
Community Impact & Achievements
Economic Development & Housing
- St. Brigit’s Village: Launched Frederick’s first affordable housing project, featuring 40 intergenerational rental apartments as of August 2025.
- Downtown Walkability: Awarded $200,000 from CDOT Main Streets to upgrade sidewalks for ADA compliance, with completion expected in the first quarter of 2026.
Infrastructure & Public Works
- Smart Water Management: Replaced old residential water meters with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI). Over 1,500 "Smart" digital meters were installed in 2025 to provide real-time data for better water management, with full project completion targeted for Q1 2026.
Public Safety
- Victim Services: Enhanced support services, reaching 288 unduplicated victims.
- Personnel & Wellness: Hired 3 new police recruits and completed the DOLA Behavioral Health program for officer wellness.
- Youth Outreach: Implemented school-based opioid awareness programs.
- Update Technology: Received grant funding to enhance evidence collection.

For the coming year, the Town has forecasted over $550,000 in planned grant submissions:

- Monitor funding updates closely to react to potential mid-year budget corrections.
