Oil & Gas Inspection Program

The Town of Frederick is committed to protecting public health, safety, and the environment while supporting responsible energy development within our community. In alignment with this commitment, the Board of Trustees established the Oil & Gas Inspection Program to provide proactive oversight of operations within town limits.

The program's primary goal is to ensure that all oil and gas sites are operating in compliance with applicable regulations and best management practices. This initiative reflects the Town's dedication to transparency, environmental stewardship, and public safety.

As of 2025, the Town plans to conduct annual inspections of all oil and gas wells located within its jurisdiction. These inspections focus on site conditions, equipment integrity, potential safety hazards, and compliance with state and local regulations. The program is designed to be collaborative by working with operators to resolve issues and ensure compliance through ongoing communication and partnership.
