Citizens Academy
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office & Frederick Police Department will be co-hosting a Citizens Academy at the Frederick Police Department. The Weld County Sheriff’s Office / Frederick Police Department Citizen’s Academy is a community oriented policing program designed for citizens of Weld County. The Academy will be conducted at least once a year to accomplish the following goals:
To allow the Citizens to meet the men and women who serve their community. To educate the citizens on the inner workings of law enforcement. To work with the citizens on solving problems and sharing ideas to help make Weld County a better place to live. Some of the classes offered will include: drug abuse recognition and meth lab awareness; crime scene and evidence collection; and traffic accident investigation.
The academy class will meet on Tuesday nights for 12 weeks starting March 23rd, 2010. Class time will run from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Applications can be obtained at the Frederick Police Department, 333 5th Street, Frederick, CO or the Weld County Sheriff’s Office Substation located at 4209 W.C.R. 24 ½, Longmont, CO.
