What factors will influence your decision on whether or not to proceed?
Expanding our electric utility to cover the entire Town must be cheaper, better and more reliable than the existing system or we will not proceed. We need to be assured that the acquisition of the United Power system will not increase costs to our ratepayers, and that we will be able to provide the same level of service. The acquisition must fit into the Town’s long-range plans and continue to service the needs of our citizens well into the future. That is why we are continuing to investigate the acquisition, and will not proceed unless and until we are assured we can meet these objectives.
