The first ever Carbon Valley Volunteer Fair will take place Saturday January 27th 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Carbon Valley Recreation Center (701 5th St.) in Frederick.A wide variety of local non-profits will be on-hand so residents can learn more about all of the different volunteering options available in our community. Whether you enjoy working with children or seniors, indoors or outdoors, a hands-on activity or a collaborative think-tank atmosphere, there is a volunteer opportunity for you right here in our community. Organizations attending include co-host Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley, Brigit's Bounty Community Resources, Carbon Valley Help Center, Communities That Care, Friendly Fork, I Have a Dream Foundation, Life Stories Child & Family Advocacy, RSVP, Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center, Senior Resource Services, Town of Frederick, United Way of Weld County and VFW Post 9741 & Auxiliary.“We know that our community believes in rolling up their sleeves for the benefit of their neighbors, so we want to help them do just that,” said Frederick’s Community Relations Manager, Megan Williams. “It’s our goal to be able to connect anyone who attends the fair to a volunteer opportunity that’s meaningful to their unique skills and passions.”Anyone who signs up for a volunteer opportunity that day will receive a free sandwich courtesy of Chick-fil-A at Larkridge (11 a.m.-1 p.m. only, first come, first served) and a free t-shirt courtesy of the Town of Frederick while supplies last.
