Weld County Temporarily Closes Dacono Household Hazardous Waste Facility

Weld County logo

The following is a press release from Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment:

The household hazardous waste disposal facility in Dacono is closed due to a major water line break. The County has been working with Central Weld County Water District over the past month to find a solution, and it’s been determined the entire water line will need to be replaced. The water line replacement project may take up to three months. The County has operated the facility, located at 5500 Highway 52 in Dacono, for the past month without water. The continued operation of the facility, however, is not safe for employees to handle and process hazardous materials without a source of running water.

While the Dacono facility is closed, the County will open its Greeley household hazardous waste disposal facility an extra day each week, on Fridays, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (this will only be until the Dacono facility reopens). The Greeley facility, located at 1311 North 17th Avenue, will also continue to be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
