Critical Incident Response Team

Weld County Critical Incident Response Team
In compliance with Senate Bill 219, and in the interest of continued transparency between the Frederick Police Department and the community we serve, the department has entered into an agreement with Weld County. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Chief Gary Barbour and commits our department to the newly formed Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT). The purpose for the creation of this multi-jurisdictional / Weld District Attorney team is to promote a fair, professional and impartial investigation during the collection of evidence while investigating an officer involved shooting, or in some cases, officer involved use-of-force by participating Weld County law enforcement agencies.

The Frederick Police Department has 2 members assigned to the team, one as a supervisor and the other in an investigatory role. You can contact the department at 720-382-5700 with any questions regarding this agreement.
