Event Details


The 4th annual DIY Day will feature four hours of non-stop do-it-yourself action! This year's event is all about the outdoors, nature and wildlife. The event will include a plethora of informal do-it-yourselfers showing off skills and tricks at individual booths. We are partnering with the Carbon Valley Regional Library to put on this awesome community event. DIY Day will take place in conjunction with the Frederick Fishing Clinic. Please plan on parking in the Safeway parking lot and and crossing Colorado Blvd via the traffic signal and crosswalk to get to the event. 


Food

New for 2018, we will have food available for purchase from The Hot Dog Catering Company! Enjoy a street breakfast taco and coffee in the morning or stop by for lunch and grab a hot dog meal.

2018 Activities 



  • Curious about bees and beekeeping?  Questions about what it takes to care for this fascinating creatures?  Want to know what you can do to help bees and pollinators?  Want to safely see live bees INSIDE the hive?  Come say hello to a couple local, experienced beekeepers from the Northern Colorado Bee Keepers Association !
  • Learn how to make your own chicken coop. This activity is hosted by our Frederick Market friends from Iris Valley Farms. 
  • Meet our Colorado Master Gardeners and learn how to start a backyard compost, tree and seed identification and any gardening questions you may have for the experts!
  • Build a bird house compliments of JK Transports Inc.
  • Meet live raptors from Nature's Educators
  • Try your hand at looming with Ellen and learn more about her nonprofit, PassingHats.org.
  • Check out one of our local Alpacas from our friends at Mail Solutions!
  • Meet the experts from the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District and learn Compression Only CPR: 2 Minutes of Training; 2 Steps to Save a Life
  • Rain barrels: Everything you need to know about rainwater collection in Colorado.
  • Be sure to check out the Renewal by Anderson booth this year to see how efficiently their windows block heat. This will be a family hands on craft using crystal paper, a heat lamp, thermal duct tape and of course their efficient window products. 
  • Stop by the Weld County Division Booth and meet Tina Booton. She can let you know all about weed identification and proper spraying.
  • The Carbon Valley Regional Library will be bringing in the bookmobile. Stop by and also check out their craft tent and make a miniature greenhouse. This fun craft is perfect for planting with kids!
  • Meet local photographers and check out their cool equipment. Be sure to bring your camera for tips and tricks to take great pictures. Use your new skills and enter our contest to be in our 2019 Built on What Matters Calendar!
  • Take a swing at our Bella Rosa Golf Course putting green challenge and get some great tips from Tim Schwartz - Head Golf Professional & General Manager.
  • Jump, run, flip and climb with Airborne Gymnastics. All ninjas, kids and gymnasts are encouraged to take on the interactive challenge course. Just have your big person sign a waiver and you're ready to tumble!
  • The Town of Frederick POST Commission and HEAL Committee are bringing in a mountain biking course, a fleet of mountain bikes and professional instructors provided by Avid4 Adventure
